Call of Duty CD error

Recommended Posts

When I try and load thw game I get a "Please insert correct CD" error.

Had this problem when I first installed the game, and then read in the readme that you need the latest Nforce2 drivers. So I downloaded those and installed them with no problems, but I am still getting the same error message when I try and load the game

Asus A7N8X DLX 3.13 Nforce drivers

ATI 9800Pro 3.9 Cat's.

Any help please?

if you own the retail version (which i did buy, and maybe even with the non retail version it will work as well ) i had the same exact problem, and did just as you did according to the read me and activisions support site and i installed the latest nforce drivers and it didnt do a damn thing... finally i called activision tech support and although they gave me crazy advice (see my forum link below) it led me to the right direction...

if you have alcohol 120% installed (maybe any other program that lets you mount virtual drives for that matter i dont know i have alcohol) and have ANY virtual drives at all mounted, unmount them and then try running the game. it should work no problem at all. basically having mounted drives and the security on the disk do not jive in some configurations and the game will not run with ANY virtual drives mounted.

again try unmounting any virtual drives if you have them mounted and it should work no prbolem at all... and you can always just remount the drives anytime you need them afterwards but make sure to unmount them before you play COD...

i actually posted a forum about this over a week ago and here it is...

forum i posted about same problem

and dont listen to the others responses, it is fine and dandy they could run it no problem but i assure you this is how i had to get it working for me...

if you can let me know if this works... good luck

Yes I did buy the game.

Turns out I had to turn off a few emulation options in Alcohol 120% to get it to work, thanks for the help :)

no problem at all...

:woot: i finally helped someone instead of being helped

The copy protection they are using, I think is conflicting with the Virtual Drives on purpose. I can list allot of games that are doing this right now. BF 1942 is another biog game having this conflict as well.
