DigitalN.
is there a patch? if so DL it. if that doesnt work, update your drivers, if that doesnt work flash your bios, if that doesnt work your screwed.

FatCat
somewere from the late 1980's I doubt there is a patch. run it in emulation mode and see if that helps.
.....
That's funny, I was just playing the original PoP yesterday. I couldn't get the sound to work, but somehow, halfway through it, it just started (my cat walked over my keyboard and must have pressed something) but I can't seem to get sound again! timmmay
try all keys while in the game (sound might be turned off?) and what kind of sound card do u have? some onboard sound devices have a setting in the bios to enable 'sound blaster' or 'legacy sound device' which adds another sound device other than the usual wdm sound driver

It still keeps coming through my pc speaker now (the one in the case I mean) I'm using a soundblaster audigy btw. I used to be able to play my old dos games with sound no problem a while ago, but since I reinstalled I haven't been able to for some reason. timmmay
have u checked in your driver settings for the audigy is there's legacy emulation or something like that? it's your most likely bet to get the sound going in older games
nomis_nehc
maybe you have a lucky cat. tell it to do it again.
roy_eyal
Try The VDMSound project page. After you install it, you can right click any game .exe file and choose Run with VDMS and most of your DOS games should work with sound (even if you don't have a soundblaster compatible sound card). Hope this helps... :)

parhamreza
thanks mate, VDM helped Prince of Persia 2 to run, and now I can even hear music I hadn't heard when I first played it 10 years ago :)
