Vinh
Hey, After 3 days of thinking if I should buy gamecube or not... Im wanting one real bad now, its 3:52am Australia. I dont think I will sleep and go stright to GamesWizard at 9am and get myself a gamecube. Some questions. Im thinking of getting a gamecube console + extra control and a game or two. 1. Are there versions that matter? e.g like the xbox with their drives etc... or are all gamecube release versions good? 2. Im thinking of getting 1-2 games... What games would you recommend?? (im into fun factor rather then graphics) 3. Controls.. Im thinking of getting like 2 since my younger brother and sister can play too and charge them like a small hourly fee + tax .. jks. Which controls are the best, seen some no names sorta ones around too.. (I think I will just buy extra control and next time buy another one) 4. Are backup games etc possible (If it breaks rules, nevermind this question) Thanks alot.
Atom
1. Not that im aware of. 2. Soul Caliber 2 and Zelda 3. WAVEBIRD. They cost the same amount as an xbox controller except theyre wireless and they kick ass. 4. Yes
Dessimat0r
Metroid Prime and Zelda.
o_87
Definetly get Viewtiful Joe..though it might be too hard for you.
Boffa Jones Veteran Posted November 11, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 11, 2003 Sorry if it is too late, but get Zelda And Metroid. Zelda is an awesome game and has really really good story, and is an easy game to plaqy while being lots of fun. Metroid is just an awesome badass game, deftinetly one of my all time favorites. Actually both of them are detinetly all time favorites. OOooo but if you want some multiplayer...get smash brothers, awesome 'fun with friends' game, when i had a girlfriend, who hated games, even she played it. Malechai Veteran Posted November 11, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 11, 2003 1. nope 2. fun factor over graphics? all the ones mentioned as well as SSX3!! 3. stay with official nintendo controllers. wavebirds are nice, but you'll lose the rumble. (only a big deal to those who really like it) 4. don't think so, but not totally sure.
Dazzla Veteran Posted November 11, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 11, 2003 1. Are there versions that matter? e.g like the xbox with their drives etc... or are all gamecube release versions good? Nope, afaik all versions are identical. 2. Im thinking of getting 1-2 games... What games would you recommend?? (im into fun factor rather then graphics) Mario Kart (if you can hang on a few days, 17th November. SSX3, Vietiful Joe, Super Monkey Ball 2, Zelda, Mario Sunshine (shhh! I liked it :D ) 3. Controls.. Im thinking of getting like 2 since my younger brother and sister can play too and charge them like a small hourly fee + tax .. jks. Which controls are the best, seen some no names sorta ones around too.. (I think I will just buy extra control and next time buy another one) I'd always go official, if you can splash out for Wavebird then go for it, they're quality. If not then official Nintendo controllers are the way to go. 4. Are backup games etc possible (If it breaks rules, nevermind this question). Yup. FlishFun Veteran Posted November 11, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 11, 2003 EDIT - Nevermnind, you're back. And the Zelda you're looking for is "The Wind Waker". :D
HellBender
backups are possible, but theyre costly.. you'll need special hardware to rip and reburn the games, and then you'll need their proprietary 1.5gb dvd-r's to burn onto. but if you want to download games off the net and burn em, thats impossible. As for games.. Soul Calibur 2, Zelda Wind Waker, Viewtiful Joe, or.. Animal farm xD
aldo
Backups are possible - you play them over the network. I'm not entirely sure but I expect this is a rapidly growing area of 'backups' and in 3 months or so it will simply be 'hook up network cable' and 'double click the game you want'. However, I could be completly wrong and you'll have to use the nice DOS tools that are around nowadays :).

kryptonik
1. Are there versions that matter? e.g like the xbox with their drives etc... or are all gamecube release versions good? No, all Nintendo products are high quality to begin with. 2. Im thinking of getting 1-2 games... What games would you recommend?? (im into fun factor rather then graphics) Zelda and Metroid, but since you might want a multiplayer game...Super Smash Brothers...F-Zero GX 3. Controls.. Which controls are the best, seen some no names sorta ones around too.. (I think I will just buy extra control and next time buy another one) If I were you I would only get Nintendo made controllers. When will people begin to realize that graphics and DVD isn't everything? When will people begin liking a game because of its gameplay and not because it contains blood or guns? He said he is going to buy one, he didn't ask why to. ;) Either help him, or don't post at all.
