necroxd
So I was driving home from picking up some stuff at the store with my wife. Then out of nowhere this black expedition swerves in front of us. He runs all the way to the left hits the curb rides it then all the way to the right and hits the curb. It evens out and this goes on for the next 8 blocks including a school zone. At one point I pull up next to it to see if the person is in distress. It was an older man driving without a care in the world. The guy was completely and utterly trashed. (intoxicated) So I pull out my phone call the cops. They tell me to tale him. I can here in the background that they get the same call two more times. Follow the guy through some streets cops are there catch him ask me to pull to the side. Cop: You the one that called it in? Me: Yes. Cop: ID please. Me: Sure thing. (Hand him DL & CHL) Cop: Do you currently have your firearm on you? Me: Yes sir. Cop: Where is it located? Me: Right hip in the pants holster. Cop: Ok. Me: Would you like for me to retrieve it and hand it to you? Cop: That's not necessary. Can you tell me what you saw? Me: (Explain what happened.) Cop: Ok hang on a minute. Cop #2 a few minutes later: Got any kids in here? Me: No. Cop 2: Ok give me a quick run down cause I see you got ice cream in there and we don't want it to melt. Me: (Give him the run down.) Cop: Ok let me get some contact information real fast and you can get on outta here. I have seen people get dropped by cops and arrested by cops for just mouthing off. Look I say that's BS but then again don't give them a reason. I have always had pleasant encounters with the police its important to keep your cool. Hell I got out of a speeding ticket by being polite and respectful. And I was doing 90 on a 40. About 160kmph Gerowen 1 Share
PNWDweller
ALWAYS cooporate with the cops that is for sure. It does help them do their job better and makes most cops less likely to do anything to you like issue a ticket. I say most cops though because having worked in their domain (offices) fixing computers etc, I know there quite a few with a chip on their shoulder and no matter what, you are insta-guilty. Even had a few run id's on me virtually (I am security cleared and have done my background checks prior to employment) just by taking down my name and other info just by being in their office. With that said - the rest of the cops I have worked with are some of the nicest people you can run across and are genuinely considerate of you and your reasons. Have watched videos from their cars that they pulled people over and sure enough, the ones that caused a scene, are the ones that got tickted, or deeper scruitiny just because they were not happy with the cop for pulling them over. Gerowen
I've never had a problem with police officers. I've seen YouTube videos of some real douches with a badge, but 9 times out of 10 it's the people causing a scene that leads to trouble. The cops around here know most everybody has a gun, and I even stood on the steps of the state capitol for a rally with a pistol on my side and a large group of civilians with everything from AR-15s to ACRs, many of which had magazines in the well, and the state cops were very polite and there were no issues for the entire duration of the demonstration. I bought a handgun used at a flea market a while back and found a cop parked and just walked up and tapped on his window and he had no problems running the serial number to make sure it wasn't stolen and going on about his day.
