Quboid
I'm looking for recommendations for a certain type of game - generally peaceful, constructive games, like Simcity or Anno 1503. I'd prefer multiplayer over LAN support. I'm not too bothered about graphics, although nice graphics are, ya'know, nice. Likewise, not bothered about price. I'm pretty much open to any suggestions of games of this sort that are in any bases (reality like SC4, history like Anno, Sci-fi like Imperium Galactica 2, fantasy like ... um, something), which work under Windows 2000. Also open to business style games but not utterly crap tycoon games. Some military is fine as long as everything isn't directly or indirectly to do work military like RoN or AoE - Anno 1503 strikes a good balance. There are a few no's, mainly because I've already played them: Simcity series Anno series Imperium Galactica 2 (I have it but it doesn't work under Win2k) Industry Giant 2 Civilisation series. Any Ascaron game (Port Royale, Patrician, etc - I've played a few and they're all the same - unless Pat3 is different?). Capitalism 2 would fit the bill but I've lost my CD and can't find anywhere that still sells it. Anyone know if a Capitalism 3 is on the way? Any good free games? I don't even know where to start looking for these.
DigitalN.
C&C generals and zero hour and Rise of nations are great!
Quboid
Yes, but they're not what I'm looking for. Besides, played them to hell and back :)
jkinzer
If you want something peaceful and like the Sims, I've read some good reviews of Ghost Master. Review on GameSpot here.
Quboid
I tried the demo a while back and I found it rather uninteresting and repetative. Anyway, I hate the Sims. :)
DigitalN.
is there any game we will recomend that will refuse?
jkinzer
There's also supposed to be a good new Railroad Tycoon 3, I think.
DigitalN.
Trainz Railroad Simulator 2003?????????????? Trainz??????????
Quboid
dacoolness15566 - what do you mean? Do you mean I'm refusing all suggestions? Sorry, but I'm not trying to be awkard. I appreciate the suggestions but even you suggest games that don't fit what I requested or games that I've tried (albeit not ones I mentioned, it's hard for me to remember them all). I'm not ruling out suggestions for fun. Interesting suggestions after that. RRT2 was good but I know a friend who has RRT3 and he doesn't like it - still, worth looking into. I've found a demo so I'll give that a try. I don't know much about Trainz but I did hear there is a new version just out 2003 or 2004 something. Looking into it now. Quboid
No prob, I just wanted to say that I turned them down for a reason. It's Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004 that's just out for a day or three and it's a strange one. Looks like a mix of RRT3, MS Train Simulator and Terragen. Interesting. Quboid
It's one I'm looking into, along with RRT3. Neither of these are really what I was looking for but they look interesting.
