Must see!

I knew about this game like year or so ago and it reminds me of the movie "28 Days Later" that was just made. Anyone agree with this?

It's based in the movie "Stalker".... see my post above... ;)

Lies!!!

Before doing some judgement, do some research mate... maybe you can learn something about the good SciFi and the origin for some games... ;)

Read the page from Amazon about the movie, and the reviews, sure you can see is based in that story.

Here's some more stuff on the game at 3dgamers.com :woot:

...Did anyone else do a double-take upon seeing this to confirm that it was actually a game? Wow... I never thought a game could look so real...

I'm really looking forward to this game... liked the concept about Chernobyl when I first heard about it. Too bad it's not planned for release until june 2004 though. This christmas is getting abit thin with hl2 delay etc... I hope Deus Ex 2 will be released as planned.

Yeah. Stalker is going to rock. I've been following this game for some time now. Originally it was going to be an entirely different game to what we can now expect some time next year. When development began, nearly three years ago, the initial concept was of a team based tactical shooter where the players explored distant planets. Back then it was known simply as Oblivion Lost. But, as the team grew, the early concept mutated into a far more appropriate setting - the region surrounding infamous Chernobyl nuclear plant in the Ukraine. The design team for STALKER is based no more than 70 miles from the site!

I can't wait.

Where did you read this?

Just saw the date june 14th on Gamespot. They also have a literary contest on STALKER site where people can come up with stories and legends about the zone. Parts of these stories will be included in the final game in some way... the end of this contest is march 31st, so I guess we won't see the game until then.

btw. Just saw a post by one of the STALKER team guys on the forum. The reason why there's no gameplay in this latest video is because they just wanted to show the dynamic day/night cycles. New demonstration with gameplay will come early next year.

I'm not usually a sucker for nice graphics but... what the hell, this is gorgeous :D

I love f.p.s. games that can render realistic cities and because of this I like the look of this and HL2 much more than Doom III.

I agree with rekka. I think looking at the old buildings and stuff makes for a better "connection" with the game wince it's something most everyone is familiar with. AS opposed to a metal hallway in a Mars base that leads to Hell...
