It has now been revealed that 24: Live Another Day (that's the official title) will air in May 2014 for 12 episodes. Fox chairman Kevin Reilly told reporters today on a conference call that plans for a movie have been scrapped as compressing the show to only two hours just didn't work. However, this limited series will only take place across 12 hours and while it WILL pan out chronologically, they will also skip hours. Apparently, the studio sees "franchise ability" in 24's return and it could return for another series in 2015.

Just saw a website post this, O YES!!! bring back some good old shows!! but only problem only 12 episodes :( Anyways i'm happy!!

NICE!

I loved the show. I'm just wondering if making it 12 hours instead of 24 and skipping hours as they said will be the same as the original idea.

My thoughts. Kill off Jack in the "12" series. Then bring a new guy in and start off a new series/season.

How dare you say that, take that back lol :p Bauer is rock solid, not even bullets can kill him ;)

I'm amazed it took this long to figure this out. Try to take a show that runs for 24 1 hour episodes, perfectly in time over 24 hours.... try to make it work in 2 hours.... There was never a chance. It would never have been "24". It would have just been an action movie with possibly a similar cast, most likely mostly different.

You don't understand... Kiefer is 24. Without him there'd be no intensity.

Each series of 24 was actually 16 hours :p.

Do we need this? Homeland is what 24 never was.

I kinda have to agree, but I can't say it was "what it never was'. Homeland filled the 24 absence. Nothing can never replace Jack. Jack replaces nothing.
