Rappy Veteran Posted May 13, 2013 Veteran Share Posted May 13, 2013 In the gritty world of the NYPD, no one?s tougher than Det. Robert Ironside (Blair Underwood). He?s a fearless cop who won?t stop until the guilty are brought to justice. He and his trusted, handpicked team of specialists ? Virgil (Pablo Schreiber), Holly (Spencer Grammer) and Teddy (Neal Bledsoe), as well as his former partner Gary (Brent Sexton) and boss, Det. Ed Rollins (Kenneth Choi) ? will do whatever it takes to solve New York?s most difficult and notorious crimes. As a detective, Ironside?s instincts are second to none, and those around him have to stay on their toes if they want to keep up because when his spine was shattered by a bullet two years ago, Ironside swore he?d never let a wheelchair slow him down. djdanster
Seems to be based on the show with the same name Ironside, except the 60's show was based on the SFPD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ironside_(TV_series) Worth the watch. As with most just announced shows, I'm assuming it doesn't, but does it have an air date or even an airing night yet?

SoCalRox
Why call it Ironsides if you are changing everything? I like Underwood, but I don't see myself checking this out.

MorganX
Why call it Ironsides if you are changing everything? I like Underwood, but I don't see myself checking this out. Just watched episode 1. It was well acted, written, and I personally thought it had really good sound production. The only thing wrong, I have seen the original ironside as a kid. And on a couple OTA subchannels the orginal comes on. It would have been good as an original show. Not sure why they had to pull a wild wild west. The character was well established and very distinctive for years. Ironside is a white heavyset guy who solves using mostly intellect. Underwood is a Black guy who in the first scene, beat the crap out of a guy in a back seat. If you've never seen the original, this is a non-issue. I think it could have stood on its own. I didn't watch Ironside regularly or anything, so I can keep watching it. But I hate when they reinvent a well established character.
Sandor
Original Ironside was epic. This, unfortunately, isn't likely to be.
