Former Saturday Night Live queen and recent SNL guest star Kristen Wiig is lending her voicing talents to a Simpsons episode that will be very close to home. Homeland that is (I know, that was a horrible quip). In the Simpsons episode (titled ?Homerland?), scheduled to air in the fall on Fox, Wiig will be voicing an FBI agent.

In Homerland, Homer returns home from a nuclear power plant convention and begins to act very strange. Overly polite and quiet, Lisa becomes suspicious of Homer?s uncharacteristic behaviour and asks an FBI agent (Wiig) to help her figure out what is going on with her father. The episode is an obvious referral to hit television show Homeland, where lead character U.S. Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody returns home after being a prisoner of war and is suspected to have been brainwashed and turned by Al-Qaeda.

This is not Wiig?s first Simpsons appearance. The comedic actress played hippie substitute music teacher Ms. Juniper, and the object of Principal Skinner?s affections, in a season 22 episode (?Flaming Moe?) of the long running animated comedy.

The Simpsons upcoming 25th season will bring in a slew of guest stars, in addition to Wiig. Appearances from Mad Men?s Elisabeth Moss, comic legend Stan Lee, and The Newsroom creator and writer Aaron Sorkin are a few of the promised guests.
