Rappy Veteran Posted May 28, 2013 Veteran Share Posted May 28, 2013 During the Sunday evening recording of his Harmontown podcast, the Community creator reportedly let slip that he has been invited back for the cult comedy?s somewhat surprisingly greenlit Season 5, says the website Hollywookie.com, which had a staffer in the audience at the taping. As the story goes, Harmon at first asked the podcast crew to edit out that jawdropper, only to then shrug, ?Ah, f?k it. I don?t care who knows!? It is unclear if Harmon is claiming he was asked back as showrunner or to serve as a consulting producer ? a title he was offered, yet declined, at the time of his May 2012 firing. A spokesperson for Sony Pictures Television, which would be the one to approach Harmon (provided the studio had NBC?s blessing), did not immediately respond to TVLine?s request for comment. +virtorio MVC Posted May 28, 2013 MVC Share Posted May 28, 2013 Be damn good if he did. Season 4 had it's moments, but it was lacking something compared to the others.

Rappy Veteran Posted May 29, 2013 Author Veteran Share Posted May 29, 2013 As we reported at the time of NBC?s eleventh-hour renewal of Community, there had been interest in bringing back series creator Dan Harmon for what I hear is expected to be the final 13-episode season of the cult comedy. (It is not on NBC?s fall schedule). I have learned that both Harmon and key former Community writer-producer Chris McKenna have been approached about rejoining the show for its final chapter. Harmon is currently unattached, while McKenna is under an overall deal at NBC sibling Universal TV. McKenna, who served as co-executive producer on the Sony TV-produced Community for its first three seasons, left last May to move to Uni TV. Creator/executive producer Harmon was replaced as showrunner by David Guarascio and Moses Port a couple of weeks later. I hear Guarascio and Port had a one-year deal and were approached about coming back but opted to move on.
