Shane Black, Ang Lee, David Yates being considered for 'Bond' 24

Recommended Posts

007 fans dropped to their knees and wept when Sam Mendes revealed that he wouldn't be returning to helm James Bond 24. However, talk quickly turned to who would replace him, with The Dark Knight Trilogy's Christopher Nolan quickly emerging as a candidate (commitments to Interstellar and his reported desire to start over with a new actor make that extremely unlikely however). Well, following reports that Nicolas Winding Refn is being considered aas director - you can read more on that by clicking HERE - Variety has now revealed a full list of candidates that Sony and Eon are said to be interested in.

Though he is in the running, Refn is just one of the directors who Eon has shown interest in. The shingle has also considered helmers including Ang Lee, Tom Hooper, David Yates and Shane Black.

Sources tell Variety it could still be some time until a decision is made ? not only because they are still meeting with helmers, but also because the details of Craig?s deal are still being worked out. Given how successful the franchise has been with Craig as the star, especially the last pic, the star?s deal is expected to be very lucrative and probably also involves director approval.

Well that's good, because Skyfall sucked balls!

Shane Black that i only know of is who starred in Predator and then Directed Iron Man 3 but in all fairness he isn't the right man for a film series of James Bond.

Ang Lee.. again never seen any of his films, heard of him but i know he did the good film Life Of PI (which not seen yet) But is he really an action director??

David yates... Harry potter so not the best choice.

Shame Christopher Nolan couldn't do it as he be by choice.

I couldn't agree more i really didn't think Iron Man 3 was the best. I think most of the money that it got was from the hype that The Avengers got.

I thought Craig was already confirmed for 24/25 as a two parter?

Yep i swear he was confirmed for 5 bonds in total.

Ang Lee made Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, which was an action movie.. i think.

Iron Man 3 wasn't that good, was entertaining because of Robert Downey Jr., but the villain was crap and not that interesting. Good vfx though, but weak story.

If you want to see a Bond movie set during Christmas time, Shane Black is your guy.

Shane Black's Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was actually really good. Well at least I loved it. Then he crapped on Iron Man 3. And then I realised how similar the two movies are..-.-.

It's quite odd to see Shane Black in this list as hes movies are quite far from what the Bond series is turning to. he puts too much comedy in his films and that what most people don't like about IM3. which i found an entertaining movie. unless they bring back Roger Moore and turn this to the old 80's way with the silly comedy

Ang Lee is one of my favorite directors despite "The Hulk". crouching Tiger and hidden dragon is one of my all time favorite movies yet I don't see him doing this. for the "Drive" guy, I'm not a fan at all so better not.

the rest are good directors but you never know what the final result will be

so long as they don't let J.J. Abrams make the film i think it might turn out alright. I was not impressed with Skyfall though.

Yeah, all we need is for him to ruin another great series. :D
