A director has been tapped for Lionsgate and WWE Studios? upcoming reboot of the horror franchise Leprechaun. The Wrap reports that visual effects veteran Zach Lipovsky will direct the redo, which has WWE star Hornswoggle onboard to play the title character. Lipovsky has helmed a number of TV movies but is probably best known as a finalist on Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett?s short-lived reality competition series On the Lot, in which a number of filmmakers competed to land a development deal at DreamWorks. Harris Wilkinson wrote the script for the new Leprechaun film, but details on the pic?s ?new direction? are being kept firmly under wraps.

Leprechaun, swear i've only seen the first one once when i was younger. May need to buy them all on dvd :p But why is WWE getting involved, to be honest they haven't made many films that i liked. Only films i liked from WWE were The Marine, 12 Rounds etc.

It's so they can put their own stars into the films like 12 Rounds 2 which stars Randy Orton
