One of the students on NBC's Community is going to be leaving the books behind to boogie with TV Land's soul man.

Yvette Nicole Brown has signed a deal to guest star on Cedric the Entertainer's sitcom, The Soul Man, which is set to begin its second season next month.

On the show, Cedric plays Reverend Boyce "The Voice" Ballentine, who is struggling with his family to adjust to leaving Las Vegas behind to do the Lord's work. His wife Lolli is played by Reno 911 alum Niecy Nash.

Brown is not the only familiar face to TV watchers who will be visiting The Soul Man, as Nash's Reno 911 co-star Cedric Yarbrough has signed to appear in the same episode. They will be reprising their roles as Robyn and Paul, an abrasive couple from Las Vegas who used to live next to the Ballentines.

They appeared during the show's first season in a July 2012 episode.

The Soul Man was spun-off from Hot in Cleveland, with Cedric appearing on that program in 2011 in "Bridezelka," which was a backdoor pilot for The Soul Man.

The second season returns June 19 at 11 p.m. on TV Land. No date has been announced for Brown and Yarbrough's episode.
