i think its a good idea.. but...

1) i like looking at pics that i've taken which i use as wallpaper

2) you would have to minimize every program just to use msn and irc chat...

3) if one of the apps crash, then your windows would probably get unstable

4) why bother when they already have separate well working applications?

5) its probably going to look plain

6) enabling active destkop would also mean that you would probably have to lock web items on desktop, making those ugly blocks appear under icons

7) i cant think of any more.. but when i do... i'll add to it...

need i say more?

and no, this is not a flame, these are just my viewpoints.

Well what i think im getting to is that if we are able to atleast progess in the coding of this and making it we might get one step closer to a like blackcomb/longhorn UI like what was seen in the 2001 Microsoft Video i forget the name but it demonstarted the pulling of and putting on of apps to the taskbar such as windows messenger well it would also just be cool to see if it could be done as well thanx for the feedback and giving me a different perspective on the subject at hand :D

O ya and Jennifer love is HOT!!! I have some good pictures if ya want Xcal

The original poster:

yes it can be done, and it can be done easily, look below to see my msn messenger desktop.

all it is a simple background, with a Iframe, then targeted tabs to show the contents of the tab. (buddies, alerts, email)

if u want this desktop download it below

if you want to change the desktop wallpaper to something u have allready, simply edit the html file b4 loading the page as a web based desktop.
