Buzz Aldrin, a legendary American space hero, is 83 years old but wants to continue working.

His latest project? Adapting his 1996 sci-fi novel, "Encounter With The Tiber," to the small screen. No word yet on who will air the program or what it will air as (series, miniseries, TV movie, etc.).

?I believe that it will be better than 'Star Trek' or 'Star Wars' because it is more realistic, it deals with real kind of beings a long time ago that had realistic travel capabilities and they weren?t shooting people up or anything," said the second man to walk on the moon. ?It is genuine progression of exploration to the point where we are now, in our thinking.

And [in the story] we think about getting that new information that the fictitious aliens left that we found and gave us the knowledge to travel from our sun to nearby stars? I think what we are doing will progressively be a lot more realistic,? he continued, adding that the adaptation is in the early stages.

Last month, Aldrin ripped Will Smith's newest film, After Earth, calling it unrealistic.

"There was a lot of noise. In space, you don't get that much noise," he said after watching its premiere. "Noise doesn't propagate in a vacuum. We talked over headsets."

Hopefully his work will better represent what he wants to see.
