It is going to be double the trouble on the upcoming second season of Arrow, says series executive producer Marc Guggenheim, so get ready! After a successful first season where a single villain, Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), stood out among the many smaller baddies the series is going to bring it bigger and badder this next time around.

"We made no secret of the fact that we subscribe to the Whedonesque model of having a big bad, and in Season 2, we'll actually have two big bads," says Guggenheim. "They'll both be very recognizable names to fans of the comic book. We're really excited about both of them."

The first season of Arrow served to be a bit of a set up for what is to come next on the series, continued Guggenheim. With Malcolm and the Dark Archer, we sort of had two big bads in one person," he says. "In Season 2, we're going to split them up essentially, and there will be a Malcolm-esque big bad and a Dark Archer-esque big bad."

Guggenheim also promises that fans can expect a lot more action in the coming season. ?We're definitely trying to take the show to the next level in Season 2," he says. "Obviously we're feeling a lot of pressure, but also a huge desire to return with a few big bold statements that the show is not quieting down. If anything, it's ramping up. It's going to be cool. I'm really excited about both villains. We've set the bar pretty high for ourselves in terms of ending with a bang, and we're looking to exceed that in Season 2.?

New Love Interest For Oliver In ARROW Season 2

The Lance sisters, McKenna, Shado, Huntress...Oliver sure covered a lot of ground in the first 23 episodes of The CW's Arrow. Yet a fresh report specifies that a new love interest will be entering the fray in Season 2 and she's 'equal to Oliver in every way.'

The first season of The CW's Arrow saw a number of love interests for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). There was of course, Sara Lance (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and her sister, Laurel (Katie Cassidy). And there was also Huntress (Jessica De Gouw), McKenna Hall (Janina Gavankar), Shado (Celina Jade), and while there wasn't much romantic interaction between them, there's also fan favorite Felicity Smoak played by Emily Bett Rickards ('Olicity', look it up). And with the explosive season finale leaving the relationship between Oliver and Laurel in a very precarious situation, there's a new report that yet another woman will enter Oliver's life to complicate matters. Reports Spoiler TV, "Arrow is currently casting for a new major recurring character/possible series regular for Season 2. Here name is Lisa and is described as a mysterious woman with a tragic past. She will wreak havoc on Oliver's heart and is equal to Oliver in every way."

'Lisa' is probably just a cover name so as to not give away the character's identity during the casting process. And in trying to think of a DC Comics femme fatale who fits that brief description, I've hit a bit of a brick wall as all the 'likely' candidates have already appeared on the show. The bit that she's 'equal to Oliver in every way' makes me believe that she'll be a serious butt kicker. Lady Shiva rings a bell but that's just my personal speculation, we shouldn't rule out the possibility that it's a newly created character. Regardless, it appears that Oliver's love life will be just as interesting in Season 2 as it was in the first 23 episodes.

ARROW Season 2 Premieres October 9th

After a blistering season finale, many fans of The CW's Arrow were eagerly looking forward to seeing what happens after Oliver (Stephen Amell) has 'failed' Starling City. Our first answers will arrive October 9th.

At the time of its announcement, news of a Green Arrow television show on The CW that was not a spinoff of Smallville's Emerald Archer was met with a fair amount of consternation. But the program has overcome that doubt and the naysayers to become the network's number one television program, averaging 3.2 million viewers in its freshman season. The show received favorable reviews from critics with an average MetaCritic score of 73 out of 100 (for comparison, the first season of The Walking Dead received 82 out of 100). With a strong foundation underfoot, The CW has just announced that Season 2 of Arrow will premiere October 9th at 8pm. The series is spearheaded by leading man Amell, with a strong supporting cast comprised of Katie Cassidy, Manu Bennett, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Willa Holland, Susanna Thompson, Colton Haynes and Paul Blackthrone. The guiding creative forces are longtime television and comic book writers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg along with show creator Greg Berlanti. One of the show's primary strong suits is the fight choreography which is led by James Bamford.

Arrow Targets Summer Glau for Recurring Role as Oliver Queen Adversary

In Season 2 of the superhero series, Glau will fill the recurring role of Isabel Rochev, the beautiful (yathink?) and dangerous Vice President of Aquisitions for Stellmoor International, a company looking to take over Queen Consolidated. Previously on the show, her name was glimpsed on Robert Queen?s ?list.?

Per DC lore, at least, Isabel fancies herself a bit of a rightful heir to the Queen family business, and as such she will be eager to get Ollie out of her way. (She is also technically a blonde, but if the show so desires, sources tell me we now have the technology to make that happen!)
