As we all anxiously wait on news of a Justice League movie, it may come as a relief to learn that Warner Bros. are at least giving the green light to some of their other DC comic book properties. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the Vertigo series Fables is set to be adapted to the big screen by Nikolaj Arcel. He is best known for helming critically acclaimed Danish film, A Royal Affair. The adaptation is set to be written by Jeremy Slater - who recently worked on a draft of The Fantastic Four for 20th Century Fox - and will be produced by David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford of Heyday Films (they are responsible for the Harry Potter movies). This isn't the first time that plans have been put in place to adapt Fables. Warner Bros. tried to develop a movie back in 2004 with the Jim Henson Company and it was ultimately passed on by ABC when it was set to be brought to the small screen four years later. Fables was created in 2002 by Bill Willingham and focuses on fairytale characters like Snow White and Cinderella who get kicked out of their world and into ours.
