New video http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=9RZ__mnyx9Y

Think I am going to put the wife in a pleasent mood when I tell her I have pre ordered another game... Wolf always suckers me in.

Ditto, well, not the abomination released in 2009. But the period between W:ET and Halo 2 release is a blur for me

Not letting myself get hyped over this though. Not after the last one (N) Plus Splash Damage isn't involved :(

Edit: trailer was pretty good. Looks like they're borrowing Homefront's story mixing it with Inglourious Basterds humour and old nazi supernatural myths. Not a bad cocktail :D

Loved W:ET. Sometimes still play it now and its good to see it still has a good amount of players on it. Didn't mind the 2009 version, although saying that it took me 3 attempts to complete starting from PC and finally ending it on the PS3.

Those graphics are looking decidedly last gen :/ added to the descriptions making it sound like a pretty generic shooter I may give it a miss until it is in the bargain bin.

They should have used something other than id Tech 5. After Rage, I vowed never to play a game using that engine. It's awful. This game looks kinda interesting too so that's a shame. I imagine it would have looked a lot better with CryEngine.

The only negative that keeps sticking out when I see gameplay is the really low skin textures on  your hands. Really poor quality that just catches the eye.

Agreed but I'd go a step further and say it's all of the textures. It really doesn't look like it's using id Tech 5 to the fullest. A huge gap between it and Rage IMO.

Still, the gameplay looks a lot better than 2009's game (Y) I don't think it'll be a huge hit for FPS, but hopefully breathes some life back into the IP for more installments

I agree, it still looks pretty good but I would have like to have seen some higher textures just to give it a bit more beef around it.

Looks great to play though saying that and really cannot wait to start playing the castle levels again. Seems a lot more like RTCW which is really good. It just had that vibe about it.

this looks fine to me, the shooting in Rage was very good so if this is similar we're in for a nice treat. Pre-ordered on PS4 and looking forward to it, seems like the sense of humor and wackiness are intact. Now to finish Nazi Zombie Army 2 before Wolfie comes out...man I do feel bad for German gamers sometimes

Wolfenstein: The New Order - On a Train to Berlin - Gameplay

Don't know about the music but the rest was fantastic. They captured the insane sadism, masochism, and sexual perversion of the Nazi's and the terror of defying them in a creative and understated way. The photo game was fantastic. Sums up the Nazi regime and why to this day we enjoy fighting them. The textures on the hands didn't looks so bad here. Great trailer, definitely makes me want to buy it. Hopefully the final textures are acceptable.

The style and music from the intro made me think they're going for a Tarantino vibe. I'm not sure it carries over into the game, so far it doesn't seem to.

Loved the coffee physics

Wolfenstein: The New Order - On a Train to Berlin - Gameplay

Wowsers. The last gen graphics put me off a bit at first but I was riveted. They created an atmosphere you could cut with a knife .

If this is indicitave of the rest of the game I am definitely interested.

Bethesda's Pete Hines: I'm sorry about Starfield Xbox exclusivity, but it is what it is
      by Usama Jawad

At E3 last week, we finally got official confirmation that Bethesda's highly-anticipated RPG Starfield is coming next year, but will only launch on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox cloud play systems, which essentially means that last-gen consoles and PlayStation will be left out. Although this announcement was somewhat expected given Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax Media last year, it obviously rubbed some PlayStation players the wrong way. Bethesda's SVP Pete Hines has now issued an apology on the matter, while emphasizing that it is what it is.

In an interview with GameSpot, the executive went on to say that:

All said and done, it's pretty much clear that Bethesda has no plans to bring Starfield to PlayStation for now. Although it is important to understand that plans change all the time.

Starfield currently has a release date of November 11, 2022. The space adventure is being developed on Creation Engine 2, and in the in-engine trailer released a few days ago, we saw a spaceship parked on an unknown planet before a pressurized suit wearing individual - probably our protagonist - prepares to take off. Not much else is known about the game yet, but we'll likely find out more with the progression of time.

Now that we're getting Windows 11 and things are starting to change up more than the past few years with Windows 10, I un-pinned the old Windows 10 thread and started this one.

With the leaked build and the event coming on the 24th things are getting interesting once more.

Grand Theft Auto Online is shutting down on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this year
      by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe

Later this year, the wildly popular online portion of Grand Theft Auto V is leaving behind the original platforms it released on two console generations ago. Rockstar Games today announced the shutdown of GTA Online on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as well as the platforms' Rockstar Games Social Club stat tracking capabilities.

While the single-player portion will remain untouched, GTA Online will become inaccessible on the two platforms starting on December 16. Before that, Rockstar will halt microtransaction purchases (Shark Cards) from September 16.

Rockstar stopped updating Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 way back in 2015, and the Online content has remained the same since then. Currently, the studio supports the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 versions of the game with new content, and is also working on new "expanded and enhanced versions" for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Another piece of bad news for players on old platforms is that there won't be any way to transfer their in-game characters and progress to a newer device, or get refunds on Shark Card purchases. The studio did not say how many active players will this shutdown impact.

Moreover, with Social Club online services going away on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, all online features of L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3 — website stat tracking, online multiplayer, and leaderboards — on the platforms will also cease to function from September 16. Once again, the single-player campaigns will remain intact.

Xbox June update has text-to-speech party chat accessibility options and more
      by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe

The June update for Xbox has landed heralding new features and changes to both Microsoft's game consoles and Xbox app on mobile platforms.

Today's release brings speech-to-text and text-to-speech transcription support for party chat on Xbox consoles. With speech-to-text, anything spoken while in a party can now be converted to text which appears as an adjustable overlay on top of gameplay, while text-to-speech has text chat being read aloud by a synthetic voice (with multiple voices available) for others in the party.

Both functions can be found in Settings > Ease of Access > Game and Chat transcription page. Options > Configure Ease of Access settings can also be used to access it from inside of a party chat.

Elsewhere, the guide has been updated to allow customizing the order of custom game groups. In the My games & apps screen now exists a 'Move groups' button alongside the 'Create a new group' button for easy sorting.

Cross-network play requests — involving games like Minecraft that can be played with Windows 10 and Switch players — made by Xbox child accounts in a family group can now be handled by parents or guardians via the Xbox Family Settings mobile app or from an Xbox console. Speaking of mobile, Microsoft is also rolling out improvements to the Android and iOS Xbox apps that will let users see official social posts from games, while offering like, share, and commenting capabilities.

As for known issues in this update, not much has changed since last month except a single new problem that has surfaced. Microsoft says it has received reports regarding controllers not responding when returning to a game using Quick Resume and suggests restarting the game to resolve it. The update is available now, and users can trigger it to happen right away or wait until it completes automatically.
