The best Amazon Prime Day deals on Galaxy Note20, Galaxy S20, OnePlus 8 Pro, more
by Rajesh Pandey
Amazon's Prime Day might have been delayed this year but it is not short on some amazing deals. If you plan on buying a new Android smartphone, you should check out the deals available for Prime Day as they are pretty enticing with some smartphones discounted by hundreds of dollars.
Galaxy Note20 Ultra
Samsung's biggest and most-packed Note yet, the Galaxy Note20 Ultra retails for $1,299.99. However, for Prime Day, it has been discounted by $250 to $1,049.99. This gets you 5G connectivity, 128GB storage, Snapdragon 865 chipset, S Pen, and more.
Samsung's 2020 flagship, the Galaxy S20, might not have received rave reviews but it is still a great phone by all means. What makes the device even better is its discounted price of $750 instead of its usual price of $999. That's a sweet $250 off the retail price of the phone that makes it a much better deal.
Galaxy S20 Plus
The bigger and better Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus usually retails for $1,199 but for Prime Day, it sees a $300 discount. For $899.99, you get a phone that's capable of recording 8K videos, features a 120Hz AMOLED panel, a 32MP selfie shooter, and 25W fast charging support. This is the unlocked variant of the Galaxy S20+ with 5G connectivity so you can use it on any network in the U.S. you want.
Galaxy S20 Ultra
Samsung's best flagship phone of 2020, the Galaxy S20 Ultra usually retails for a massive $1,399. For Prime Day though, it has been discounted by $350 so you can get it for $1,049.99. The 108MP primary camera, the 100x Space Zoom, the massive 6.9-inch QHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display all make the Galaxy S20 Ultra pretty worth it at this price point.
Samsung's 2019 flagship might be a bit old now bit but it can still hold its own with a capable triple-camera setup at the rear, stunning design, a capable Snapdragon 855 chipset, wireless charging, and more. Amazon is offering a $175 discount on both the regular Galaxy S10 and the S10+ variants bringing their price down to $574.99 and $674.99, respectively.
Galaxy S10 Lite
If you don't want to spend too much on a new smartphone that offers flagship-like performance, you can get Samsung's Galaxy S10 Lite for just $474.99 this Prime Day. Amazon usually sells the unlocked variant of the phone for $649 so you are getting a pretty sweet $175 discount here.
Galaxy A71 5G
If you want a budget 5G phone from Samsung, the Galaxy A71 is definitely worth considering. It packs a 6.7-inch display, 128GB storage, space, 5G connectivity, and a quad-camera setup. The phone usually retails for $599.99 but can be purchased for just $419.99 after a $180 discount for Prime Day.
OnePlus 8 Pro
The OnePlus 8 Pro retails for $999 in the U.S. for the 12GB RAM/256GB storage version. However, for Prime Day, the phone has been discounted by $99 to $899. For the power the OnePlus 8 Pro packs, this is a pretty good deal.
Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL
Google might have discontinued selling the Pixel 4 but you can still get it from Amazon, and at a pretty great price as well. The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL both see a $350 discount which brings their price down to a more reasonable $449 and $549 from $799 and $899, respectively. This gets you an excellent 12MP rear shooter, a phone that will be the first in line to get Android OS and security updates, and more.
Motorola One Action
If you are not looking to spend a bomb on a new phone, you should check out the offerings from Motorola. Amazon has discounted the $349.99 Motorola One Action to $277 for Prime Day, translating into a saving of $72.99. That gets you a phone with a 6.3-inch display, 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, and a 16MP primary shooter.
Motorola G7 play
The budget-oriented Moto G7 play is usually available for $199.99 but for Prime Day, Amazon has made it even more affordable by discounting it by $80 to just $119.99.

Best Buy's Black Friday kicks off on October 13
by Usman Khan Lodhi
Best Buy has announced that it will make some of its Black Friday deals available next week, starting Tuesday. Black Friday, the name given to the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the U.S., features a plethora of deals from retailers wanting to drive a ton of sales in a brief period.
The two-day event, which will kick off on October 13, is happening on the same dates as Amazon's Prime Day 2020. The retailer runs anti-Prime deals each year, and since this year's Prime Day is happening close to Black Friday due to COVID-19, Best Buy is making the offerings appear under the label of the shopping holiday.
Some of the deals available next week have been announced, which include:
Samsung 70-inch Class 4K Smart TV for only $529.99 (Save $220) Laptops starting at $119.99 JBL Free True Wireless headphones only $69.99 (Save $80) Best Buy has also addressed price matching, stating that if something bought next week is offered for a better price before Black Friday, the retailer will refund customers the difference. However, the refund will only be made for items that have a "Black Friday Price Guaranteed" label on the product page, and for purchases that are made while signed into a free My Best Buy account. The retailer said that reimbursements will take place by December 14.

Amazon's Prime Day will kick off on October 13
by Usman Khan Lodhi
Amazon has finally announced the dates of this year's Amazon Prime Day. The two-day event is slated to kick off at 12 AM PT on Tuesday, October 13. It will feature the usual flurry of deals from brands like Panasonic, Roborock, Keurig, Under Armour, Coleman, Adidas, Marvel, Ticwatch, and more.
Typically, the firm hosts this event in July, but it got pushed back this year due to COVID-19. Prime Day is a real moneymaker for the Seattle firm, as it drives a ton of sales in a short period. Additionally, it also encourages people to sign up for Amazon Prime subscription, since the deals are only available to active members.
Amazon is aiming to support small businesses by incentivizing users to buy from them before Prime Day. Starting today, Prime members who spend $10 on items from select small businesses will receive $10 credit usable on Prime Day. This year, Amazon is also investing an additional $100 million in "special Prime Day and holiday promotional programs" to support small businesses.
Prime Day will be held in the U.S., U.K., U.A.E, Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, Mexico, Luxembourg, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, China, Canada, Belgium, Austria, Australia, and for the first time in Brazil and Turkey.
Sony now lets you use its cameras as webcams on Windows 10
by João Carrasqueira
In recent months, some professional camera manufacturers, such as Fujifilm and Canon, have made it possible to use their high-end cameras as webcams for your PC. Now, Sony has joined the party with its new Imaging Edge Webcam software, which supports plenty of Sony's camera models from recent years.
At least for now, the software only supports the 64-bit variant of Windows 10, and no macOS support is in sight. But it does support a wide range of camera models - a total of 35 - including interchangeable lens cameras with A- and E-mounts, plus digital still cameras (DSC) and vlog cameras, so there's plenty of options to choose from, and not just the super high-end models.
You can follow Sony's guide to connect your camera to your PC, but a few things worth noting is that the webcam software will use the aspect ratio set on the camera itself, so you'll want to change it beforehand if you want a specific aspect ratio. Sony also warns that the resolution will be 1024 x 576, so you won't get the full native resolution of the cameras, but it should still be better than most integrated webcams.
You can download the software from Sony's website, and you'll need to select all the camera models you plan to use before downloading it.
