Graphic Novels! recommend me some.

i've never really been into reading stories that much, so dont own many books that aren't practical in some way or a guide. i've been browsing graphic novels for the last 2-3 hours and have no idea what will be good and what wont, since they all seem to be excellent in their own way with great reviews.

so anyone reccomend any graphic novels? i'm really open to all suggestions except Marvel or superhero type ones (unless there exceptionally good).
