Signing up to Flickr - Any options other than Facebook?

Recommended Posts

So I was going to join Flickr to put my family photos on until I realised there is no such thing as a Flickr account I'm not adding my Facebook to it, I see no reason to do so since my photos aren't for mass public display. I'm not joining with don't be evil Google... and I don't use yahoo for anything... really is there no such thing as an stand alone online account these days its more secure....

Yahoo owns flickr, so why wouldn't they use their authentication service to join it? O.o

Flickr has 3 login systems: 1) Yahoo Login  2) Facebook Login 3) Google Login

If you don't have any of the accounts as mentioned above, you can sign up for an acount for yourself.

You don't have to use Facebook or Google to login...  you can use Yahoo if you want.

If you aren't interested in it... then you can use other providers such as pbase.com or use your own hosting account for your photos with login system of your choice.

This, or you could use an online cloud storage system instead of a site such as Flickr, for instance you could use Skydrive/Dropbox. Both of these services allow you to privately share links to your files to other people (such as friends/family), and have folder organisation.
