Using Win 8 video app overseas

I am currently overseas and attempted to use the video app that comes with the surface to purchase a movie to watch. It says that I must be in the country of my LIVE account in order to purchase and download videos. This is the most stupid restriction I've ever heard of! Is there any way around this???
