alexchu2643
I have a little problem...: I just got a new computer a month or so ago. It came with Windows XP Home Edition. I upgraded to Windows XP Pro just after I installed my Printer, DVD ROM, CD-RW, and Handspring Cradle. XP Pro is a LOT slower on my system than Home was. I would like to go back to Home Edition. How can I do this without having to reinstall everything?
DjmUK
If you used a simple upgrade, then I believe that if you go into your "Control Panel" and "Add/Remove Program" there should be an option for uninstalling "Professional". If all else fails - did you get a recovery CD with your PC with "Home" on..? Hope this helps :rambo:
alexchu2643
Yeah.. I got the recovery CD... will that install without wiping my registry and the like?
DjmUK
Well if you want "Home" and my last msg didn't work for you, then you're gonna' have to reinstall WinXP "Home" (the recovery CD), and yeah everything will be wiped, but no doubt you backup your work - and you could also backup your registry if you wish. Sorry I couldn't be much help on this :rambo:
IceHawk
Do clean installs. Stuff like this wouldn't happen. And there isn't enough different stuff in Professional to make it slower.
