Froggy
I have a shortcut on my desktop that points to Win Explorer and I would like it to look something like a business file cabinet...maybe 3D. I don't have a creative bone in my body so I need all the help I can get. Thanks!

FOOOD
Don't you like the XP default? Download
Froggy
The default icon didn't exactly knock my socks off. Yours is...WOW! Tell me, did you just create this off the top of your head. I'm astounded as to how creative some folks are.
FOOOD
No I didn't create it, it's a proper microsoft icon. Isn't this the default cab icon? I don't know what it's meant for if not but it's a proper MS XP icon.
hob_se
it IS the default CAB icon..
Hawkeye
Yup, it certianly is the default icon for .cab files in Windows XP. If you don't install any archiving programs (like WinZip, WinRAR, or WinAce), that should be the icon you see for any file with a .cab extension. Froggy
Sorry, but I have WinZip and every *.cab file opens with the default WinZip one. I searched my shell32.dll file and found a ton of Windows default icons but I couldn't find the one you showed me. It must be hiding somewhere in my computer. Any suggestions as to where I could find it. Now my curosity's peaked.
Hawkeye
It should be located inside the cabview.dll file in your system32 folder, which is in your Windows folder. Check that file.
Froggy
Thank you. I found it. Now...be patient with me here...how do I go about getting that picture onto my desktop to be used as an icon for a shortcut?
