V-Tech
Apple is about to achieve a huge milestone that is once again indicative of how far the company has come in recent years. As noted by Enders Analysis? Benedict Evans, cumulative iPhone sales totaled 356 million units as of Apple?s fiscal second quarter, which ended this past March. Meanwhile, lifetime iPod sales totaled 375 million units at the time. Wall Street currently estimates that Apple sold between 26.7 million and 27.9 million iPhones in the June quarter, while iPod sales have been sinking consistently. This will bring lifetime iPhone sales to approximately 383 million units, which should be just good enough to top cumulative iPod sales through the end of the fiscal third quarter. If not, however, the milestone will absolutely be reached in the current quarter. Apple?s first iPod launched in 2001, six years before the original iPhone debuted on AT&T. http://bgr.com/2013/07/16/iphone-sales-ipod-sales-lifetime/
Elliot B.
They are doing crazy well! For years now, whenever I'm on a train, I've noticed most people are using an iPhone, so these figures don't surprise me. AshUK 1 Share

Ye, i use and used a lot of public transportation over the past few years and it's very rare to see someone with a standalone mp3 player. People use their smartphones.
