+.Aaron Subscriber¹ Posted January 22, 2002 Author Subscriber¹ Share Posted January 22, 2002 Where and how can I find the firmware information about the drive? I just got it back from and RMA, so it should have the latest RMA information on it. Help me out here. azerchXP
maverick319
Did you disable XP's proprietary (Roxio) burning ability? If not, third-party burning programs will screw your discs. Go to My Computer and open. Find the letter of the CDRW drive and right-click>Properties. The last tab will be RECORDING. UN-TICK "Enable CD Recording on this drive" That should do it. Barring any other problems, Nero, EZ or NTI should now work. Try that and see what happens. I always test burn an .ISO when I reformat just to make sure the program is working properly. Micro****e in it's infinite wisdom partnered with Roxio to bring in folder burning for the Idiot Masses, but it takes FOREVER even on a fast burner since it seems to make an image of what you are burning first. mtgriffith
I Nero click Recorder then Choose Recorder. You will find detailed info about your CDRW there.

mtgriffith
I need to mention they are every second. One thing I have noticed about Dr. Watson is that he keeps coming back until you restart the computer.

mtgriffith
I'm thinking it's a hardware problem. It wouldn't be the first time that the replacement wasn't any better than the return. Which CDRW do you have?
