Showtime?s Entertainment President dropped the mother of all teasers today when asked if there was any chance he?d spinoff Dexter, which ends its run in September.

Pointing to the two-year development deal he just made with Dexter showrunner Scott Buck, Nevins said with a smile, ?draw your own conclusions.?

Huh?

Afterwards, Nevins clarified to a group of reporters that ?we are really not dealing with it at all until we are through with this season and maybe a while thereafter.? But he definitely left the door open for some kind of spinoff.

?There are always things that can be done,? Nevins said, when pressed. ?We have a deal with Scott and we are going to talk to a bunch of different things with him. I don't know anything. There is nothing real. There?s no sense of whether it will happen, if it will happen, but I want to stay in business with Scott.?

In a press release, Showtime said Buck is currently in development on a few projects for Showtime, including supervising the script for Matthew Specktor?s novel American Dream Machine, which Dexter?s Michael C. Hall will also executive produce and Specktor will write.

After seeing tonight's episode of Dexter, I think I have a really good idea on how they'll do a spin-off.  For anyone else that's seen the episode, I think you will too.  Granted, this is just the half way point of the season, so a lot could change between now and episode 12, but I think it could be a good possibility that they will try and do a spin-off with

Haven't seen the ep yet (due to CBS and TWC being ######), but the other thing I could possibly see is one about Deb's new job as a P.I.
