When a single pumpkin seed is planted in an old hog (pig) yard......

My dad has an Apple orchard and a garden in what use to be an old hog (pig) yard. Thus the yard for 20 years use to be full of pig poop a.k.a "Fantastic Fertilizer" .So what you see in the picture below is my dad's pumpkin patch from just a single seed!

In comparison.. here is my pumpkin, which was panted 1 week before his...

One year the vines went all the way over the left, up the side of the barn, through the window and down to the cement floor. In the in end there was pumpkins on floor.

But don't the pumpkins tend to be smaller when you have more vines like that?

Well actually... here is one of his pumpkins from 2011 ... I always say that pumpkin makes me look like a Hobbit.

We had something similar happen...  let a pumpkin from Halloween rot in our back yard and WOW...  it took over the back yard, it was amazing!

nice, I've always wondered how pumpkin patches can have thousands.. I guess you wouldn't need to plant thousands of seeds.
