JasonMiles
The new Office 365 app for Android, launched a week ago, has a super nice UI, but lacks a bunch of basic features and has some really weird oversights ? including a classic Microsoft dialog box that offers a choice that makes no sense. 'Overall, it still feels like Microsoft is still trying to funnel people toward its own Windows Phone if they want a better experience. In fact, in a question on an FAQ about how the Android Office app compares to the Windows Phone Office app, Microsoft says this: ?Office Mobile on Windows Phone 8 provides a richer, more integrated experience,? and goes on to specify how. That?s a losing strategy when so many other apps ? many of them free ? offer a richer experience on Android and iOS.' http://www.citeworld.com/mobile/22227/office-android-review

I can't think of one good reason why I should purchase this.
Denis W. Veteran Posted August 7, 2013 Veteran Share Posted August 7, 2013 Only bother using this app since I'm piggybacking off my four year subscription. Were it not for that, hell no. The app can't even support text selection on iOS for christ's sakes! That being said, OneNote is a sign things can be much, much better for Office Mobile. OneNote on the iPad at least has a great UI that is almost like the desktop app.
techbeck
I will stick with Polaris or OfficeSuite Pro.
tsupersonic
I have a subscription (Office 365 University - 4 years/$80), and the only device I can use it on is my HTC One. It's not compatible with my Nexus 7 2012/2013. This is already suboptimal, because if I wanted to edit documents, it would be on my tablet rather than my phone. My HTC One already came included with Polaris office (which is meh). The Office app lacks some features which Polaris has, making it less than ideal to use. I primarily use OfficeSuite Pro, it's more feature packed compared to Office for Android or Polaris Office.
