i used to have windows blinds 3 enhanced

the problem with that was that there would be a black rectangle border around some of the buttons

so i thought that styles would fix it but when i put styles on my computer, some buttons wouldn't be skinned at all....

strange

i hope that someone finds a solution soon...

alrite

now i really don't get what's going on

on the left hand side, there's the open file windows for Windows Media Player. Note the skinned buttons, menu (on the left) and the combo bars at the top and bottom

on the right hand side, Winamp's open file window

Note that nothing except for the title bar is skinned

...basically the same window but only one is skinned

...i guess it's time to switch back to WB 3 enhanced

The issue isn't with MSStyles, it's that WinAmp and other 3rd party vendors implemented their own code to create an interface that was similar to the interface back in Win9x/2000. It's something they did to their code.

Look at MSN Explorer. In Win9x/2000/XP, no matter which OS, the interface is the same, with the blue/purple theme and titlebars and buttons, etc. That's because the company hard-coded the interface. The Command Prompt in XP isn't skinned, because MS hard-coded the interface. WinAmp probably hard-coded the interface instead of using a Windows DLL to dynamically create the interface.

That's why the buttons aren't skinned, because WinAmp hard-coded them and they don't recognize that there is an applied MSStyle.
