gadean
 ..and it sucked. The game was terribly boring and repetitive. There was little interaction with aircrafts and vehicles, and the outside fight scenes were scarce. The last two "missions" were okay but it could not make up for the rest of the game. I blame this failure on poor level designers. I'm glad it's over. Time to install Call of Duty! :p woohoo!
Keldyn
Yeah. Its major downfall is poor level design. One installation looks much the same as the next. I would have liked to see more interaction with vehicles too. The game also needs a wider variety of enemies. Towards the end of the game you fight wave after wave of the same aliens and it gets tired real fast....

Starman
Um, there was only a small section of the game that was "repetative". Considering that very FEW other games have interaction with vehicles AT ALL I don't see any reason to gripe. I don't remember any vehicular interaction in Doom Quake, Unreal, Marathon. And you don't even see The Flood until half way through the game, so I don't understand where anyone would need a "wider variety of enemies". phantom
when bungie was originally making it for xbox they built a quick library level and were going to remove the repeating hallways later. along with most of the the repeating things in most other levels. but ms had to rush it out because they knew this game would be(and is) the only thing saving xbox. its one of the only games ive EVER seen to still be the same price after being out for 2 years. and its still one of the top sellers as for enemies, what more do you want? your fighting the covenant and the flood. are the covenant complaining tha they only get to fight humans and the flood? do you want a billion and a half enemies? play it on legenady. its great. Mike LOL There is plenty of the game that is repetitive. Just look at how often you are inside Halo installations. They all, for the most part look the same. As for the vehicle interaction my point is that it was a very nice addition to the game and it would not have hurt to make them more accessible. In short, they were fun. As for the variety of enemies it is indeed lacking. You are right. You don't see the Flood until half-way through the game but that is HALF of the game spent fighting the same old things. You don't think that is repetitive? I am not saying Halo is a poor game. It isn't but having said that I also think there is a lot of room for improvement. Addressing the above issues will make an already classic game that much better. Then, I suppose that is what Halo 2 will be. :)

Daybreak
Halo wasn't that bad ( its reminscient of the old Quake II style days ) for a SF-themed FPS.. What I couldn't really handle though was the controls. They were kind of *mushy*, not really suited to a keyboard/mouse style of play ( which is the major downfall of most console ports IMHO ). Malechai Veteran Posted November 19, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 19, 2003 haha yea Keldyn. i was playing co-op on the xbox and our problem was that only 1 of us had the shotgun (him) LOL! so he cleared a path and I ran backwards (half watching his split screen so i knew where to turn) and covered the rear with a spray from the machine gun, tossing grenades if it got too hectic. it was so cool .. definately an experience. whens halo 2?! :D
