Settings/format for encoding cartoons/animation/anime

I was just wondering if someone could suggest the best/most efficient format for encoding cartoons/animation/anime.

 

I usually use handbrake and encode all my stuff into .mp4 [anamorphic: none // keep aspect ratio // cropping: auto // RF 21 //constant frame rate // x264 preset medium] and they all come out pretty good .If there is a better format for cartoons I'd like to hear about it.

Animation is usually 24 frames a second. But with that id choose 16:9 ratio, I cant stand watching anything these days in 4:3 ratio. 
Other than that, looks good for settings. Definitely use mp4 encoding.

I rip everything in Handbrake with Regular/High Profile and it all comes out looking as good as the DVD. Content that I want subtitles for goes into an MKV container with "burned-in" turned off.

Does encoding anime with --tune animation advisable?
