V-Tech
Android-powered 4G LTE mirrorless camera retails for ?1,299 Around a month after we first got wind of the Samsung Galaxy NX's UK pricing, the Android-powered mirrorless camera is now available to purchase in the UK. Brits can pick up the Galaxy NX from outlets including Jessops, PC World and Currys, where it's available with an 18-55mm OIS kit lens for a whopping ?1,299 ($2,033). Of course, the Galaxy NX is no ordinary interchangeable-lens camera -- it's also packing 4G LTE connectivity, a 4.8-inch HD display and a software suite including Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Samsung's TouchWiz UI. If you want a professional-class Android-powered camera, this is where it's at for the moment -- but it's not going to come cheap. http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-nx-now-available-uk
+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted August 20, 2013 Subscriber² Share Posted August 20, 2013 I was looking at this until the price came out. I'd have gone as far as maybe ?700. My loss :(
V-Tech
This is something that i just dont understand. If you want a good camera then go ahead and purchase a nice DSLR for MUCH less. Why pay SO MUCH for this?!
+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted August 20, 2013 Subscriber² Share Posted August 20, 2013 Working on the assumption that this is a nice DSLR, but with Android as the OS: Having Android onboard does bring a LOT of benefits - instant sync of photos to wherever you want. Photo-based apps (timelapse, geotagging, live-blogiing, many more). Not enough to justify the cost over, say a ?500 DSLR
Kerm
Have to agree. You can get much better camera's for much less. 4G connectivity... whoop. :S
+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted August 20, 2013 Subscriber² Share Posted August 20, 2013 4G connectivity... whoop See, I would argue that it NEEDS 4G to function - bearing in mind it's function is a connected hi-res camera. If you want such a device, then 4G should be pretty much mandatory thinking about file sizes.
