V-Tech
Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy Gear smartwatch alongside its next-generation Galaxy Note III phablet during a press conference on September 4th, but details have already started trickling out. In the latest leak, GigaOm?s always reliable Om Malik claims to have dug up some specs for Samsung?s upcoming smartwatch from developer sources, and he also confirmed the September 4th announcement date. According to the report, the Galaxy Gear will feature a 2.5-inch OLED touchscreen display, a dual-core processor, ?decent? battery life, a camera and speakers that are embedded in the device?s strap, an accelerometer and other sensors to monitor motion, Bluetooth 4.0 and gesture support. Malik also provides some details about the Gear?s software and says that Samsung will push developers to offer apps through its proprietary app store rather than Google Play. A recent report stated that Samsung?s Galaxy Gear will launch sometime in October. http://bgr.com/2013/08/20/samsung-galaxy-gear-specs-leak/
