LG claims that is leads to better colour reproduction as colour gradients are smoother, as well as improved contrast and vividness, though obviously we're talking about diminishing gains here. On the plus side the more that the technology is improved for smaller displays the quicker we'll see cheaper, higher resolution televisions at 4K and beyond.
