Joss Whedon's Firefly Getting a Comic Book Sequel by Dark Horse

Joss Whedon's 'Firefly' return has teased by Dark Horse Comics. All Firefly fans should be very happy about this.. 

 

According to Publisher Dark House Comics.. 

 

"Joss Whedon's beloved Firefly series and Serenity film's lifespan may have been short-lived, but managed to produce one of the most dedicated fanbases in the history of modern science fiction," said the publisher. 

 

"Dark Horse is proud to be able to keep Mal and his crew flying with new comics and products." 

 

Updates about the new series is coming Facebook, Twitter and Instagram under the #WheresSerenity hashtag.

Sounds good, probably the best we can expect with the actors tied up doing other things.  I don't usually go for comics but I'll make an exception for this one.

same here.  i dont read comics at all.  but in this case i will make an exception, as i really liked the series and the movie.

That's probably what the makers of the comic books are hoping for too. I've not much of a comics fan any more, and I will probably check this out.

I just finished the series + movie (I know, waaay too late to the game). I'm definitely looking forward to this and I'll be reading the current Serenity comic books in the meantime. Also, the leaf soaring in the sky on that image is a nice touch, haha.

They have already had a bunch of Firefly/Serenity comics at Dark Horse that Joss oversaw so they are all official stories but I guess they are going to do like the Buffy thing with new seasons as a comic book and make this Firefly Season 2.

Yeah, like 2 of those mini-serie comic books tie-in with the film and show what happened in between the series and the film. I hope they'll write it in the style of "Those Left Behind" and "Better Days" because those were just like the series/movie. There's also one about the Shepherd's past which is really interesting.
