Google's new Nexus 7 is now available internationally

As previously rumored, the new Nexus 7 is now available to purchase from Google in the UK and beyond. After expanding from the US to Canada a few weeks ago, Google today took its new tablet to the Australia, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Spain, and the UK. Pricing varies from country to country, starting at ?199 ($309) in the UK, ?199 ($266) in mainland Europe, and 27,800 yen ($286) in Japan. In the US, the tablet starts at $229 excluding sales tax. The pricing is in line with earlier reports and represents a significant hike in some territories. In the UK, for example, the new Nexus 7 is ?40 ($62) more expensive than the old model, while the same tablets are just $30 apart in the US.

In addition to the expansion of Nexus 7 sales, Google also dropped the price of its Nexus 4 smartphone internationally. Although not available in Japan, the discount applies to Google play purchases in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, South Korea, the UK, and the US.
