papercut2008uk
i know, it's a strange request, but, ever since i got my 5.1 surround sound, like 8 years ago, i have not had a single movie that has done them any justice, not 1 movie that has made me go 'wow, that was worth having 5.1 surround sound for'! FiB3R
Not a movie, and only 4.1, but good stuff if you can find it / it's your cup of tea... Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon - DVDA ~3.43GB .iso Dark Side Of The MoonFrom the original 1/2" Master TapesThis is the real deal. not the usual Q8 or SQ versions with all their limitations(limited bandwidth on the Q8, Matrixed surround on the SQ etc) but a genuine transfer from the original master tapes. Finally you can hear Alan Parsons mix as it was always intended to be heard in studio quality audio. The only "liberty" we have taken here is an additional .1 track. You can make up your own mind as towhether or not it is a worthwhile addition. It also features all new artwork in both sections specially created for this DVD-Audio releaseThe disc will play on all DVD players, as it is a DVD-Audio/Video "hybrid" containing the following:Audio_TSMLP Lossless at 24/96 Resolution in 4.1Video_TSDTS from 24/48 Source filesDolby Digital from 24/48 Source filesAdditionally, it is possible to play both the lossy streams from DVD-Audio players. Each type has it's own menus. What you can access is dependant entirely on your player. All Authoring, Encoding, Post Production and design is exclusive to this release.FEEL FREE TO DISTRIBUTE THIS DISC TO OTHERS, BUT ALWAYS "AS IS" AND IN FULL.PLEASE DO NOT RIP AND REPOST IN ANY OTHER FORMAT. THERE IS NO NEED AS ALL DVD PLAYERS CAN READ THIS DISC,AND DOING SO WILL DEPRIVE OTHERS OF THE FULL HIGH RESOLUTION FORMATS USED.ADDITIONALLY, RIPPING TO DTS-CD WILL INVOLVE QUALITY LOSS DUE TO DOWNSAMPLING, AND WILLREDUCE THE LISTENING PLEASURE FOR OTHERS. I don't have a link right now, sorry. papercut2008uk 1 Share
MorganX
The best 5.1 I've ever heard is actually from and older movie believe it or not. The Blade Runner Bluray will blow you away and totally immerse you. Still have not heard anything that comes close, don't know how they did it. papercut2008uk and FiB3R 2 Share
FiB3R
OK, it's actually called "Dark Side Of The Moon (Alan Parson's Original Quad Mix DVD-A)" and it seems I made an .iso from the original files. anyways, you can get it here... http://ge.tt/1HGJCqq/v/0 (you'll need to have a bit torrent client installed) Might take a while to download, it's not being seeded that well. papercut2008uk 1 Share

FiB3R
If you got your surround sound system 8 years ago, I'm thinking you will have seen some of the films mentioned. What kit have you got, and is it positioned as well as it could/should be? I know mine isn't :(
astropheed Veteran Posted September 2, 2013 Veteran Share Posted September 2, 2013 I still remember when the Dragon flew around me from Dragonheart when we first got our 5.1 surround sound system. That was amazing to me all those years ago.
