New Windows Phone 8 GDR3 info and images

its not new it feels old like in symbian days, if you have windows 8 and windows phone 8 you would expect similar behavior at least in some parts of the OS, look at apple they copied windows phone multitask screen and they added swipe down functionality from windows 8  you would expect this kind of functionality already implemented on windowsphone

The X button is consistent within WP8 as the same mechanism is used to close IE tabs, it's obvious and it works well.  Why does it need it be consistent with a totally different OS?

At the expense of a consistent experience within WP8?

Metro IE uses close buttons but apps are still closed by dragging down. Nobody has a problem with that. They're obviously moving toward convergence, they should actually have a consistent UI. It's possible I guess that the close button is just a stop-gap to get people moving in that direction (since the animation does go down).

This is true, it could change in 8.1 for all we know.
