sin-ergy
-bYtE,Nov 21 2003, 17:31] I have tried the demo... but it was very choppy at high detail.. See my specs below... very disappointed of the speed?:// Let's hope the fullversion is faster... Well considering you do NOT have a now top-of-the-line graphics card, and this game uses very advanced DX9 effects and such, I am not surprised your computer is "choppy" at full detail. That's the point of a game with new technology, the highest settings can only really be run on the best and newest machines. That's the point of having different detail settings... runs like **** on my geforce 4 at lowest settings. something's not right here:// actually this reminds me of deus ex 1. ran like crap on my voodoo3 and i never DID finish the game. dunno how i played as much as I did with those frame rates. Rivak
this game uses very advanced DX9 effects and such I dunno, the installer wants to install DX 8.1... It's not very playable on my GF3, felt like I was getting around 10 FPS here:

badall
dame key config won't stay the way i want it to be, the graphics run very slow for what graphics they are (textures are ropey at best) and the damn graphics settings won't keep when i close the demo and start it again arrrrggggghhhhh they best sort this or i'm not buying it (and i was so looking forward to this) also did anyone notice the option for turning on/off vibration just like the one on xbox games Edited November 22, 2003 by badall

CrimsonBlur
This demo did not impress me at all. Man, I had high hopes, and they were basically SHATTERED after playing this demo for about 2 min! The interface is cool, and the graphics are pretty good, but man... this game does no live up to the hype. I thought it would be well-deserved, but unless the full game is considerably better than this demo overall, I am not buying it, nor would I say it is even close as a condidate for any awards after games like HL2, Halo 2, Doom 3, Fable and others come out. Big disappointment!

So even though it's a DX8.1 game, I'd bet you couldn't get peak performance without DX9 (and a card that supports it). This game runs perfect on my Radeon 9800 Pro... Nick Sheldon
Just finished playing the demo.. It runs like sh1t3 on my rig :( P4 2.7 Ti4200 8x 128mb I had to give up playing it as it was too choppy. The game if optimised will be very good from what I could play. We'll have to see what happens.
AndyD
First time in a long time that a game plays this crappy :( I'm definitely not gonna upgrade all of sudden just for this game though. Yakkob, wouldn't this be optimized? I would think at this point it is. My Specs: AMD 2700 Asus A7N8X Nforce 2 Corsair 512mb 3200 Running off of 80gig 8mb cache drive MSI Geforce 4400
Ayepecks
Well, looks like Ion Storm has their first bomb (for the PC version, at least) on their hands. The system requirements are also far too high and the game runs like a beast.
Icarus ^i^
The demo ran fine on my rig, but should u really need a 9800pro to run a game with these kind of graphics? I loved Deus Ex and think it's one of the best games I've ever played, but this demo disappointed me. Looks like a straight console port with absolutely nothing changed for the PC version. I'm sure I'll still buy the game for the storyline. Deus Ex was never about great gfx anyway, but common.. they could've done better than this.
