ANova
Half-Life 2 by far. Doom 3 just looks like clay IMO You have to give doom 3 credit, the texturing is very high quality. HL2 is the most realistic looking game i've ever seen though.
fishie
i dunno but doom 3 and hl2 look pretty darn snazzy. that game on phantom too what ever it is.
M1ke
Doom III is #1 iiho HL2 is a distant second.... well the reason behind this is because you play the leaked **** and you see what things really look like even on a bad ass comp with the latest and everything, overall i think Doom III blows HL2 out of the water by a long shot... HL2 doesnt have that look it might look good on the videos but hey as we all now know they were generated and scripted not from actual gameplay... well whatever, theres my two cents
cyansky
Final Fantasy X2 would have to be arguably first. GT4 will have to be the best for realism whenever the stop delayed the darn game
+Fulcrum Subscriber¹ Posted November 22, 2003 Subscriber¹ Share Posted November 22, 2003 This is hardly conclusive so far. Why can't we just wait for HL2, DoomIII, and GT4 to come out before we make assumptions on those. Anyway, Call of Duty looks good, however, this is totally biased and based on my own perceptions. I just wanna include, Best Graphics, technically could be the one's which use the most processing power, or advanced algorithm, i think you know what I mean. Or Howbout the New Myst release, Uru? Starman
Technically, you can't beat Dragon's Lair 3D and Enter the Matrix, both for the Xbox, and the ONLY console games on the planet to run at 1080i. However, in terms of art direction, design, and pure environment, I'd have to go with Final Fantasy X. Mike
Boffa Jones Veteran Posted November 22, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 22, 2003 when i played halo the first time the actual halo over the planet was... the only word i can think to describe the feeling is awesome. It was very well done for a launch title. even if it had been in production for macs or whatever for years lol.

CrimsonBlur
I'd have to go with the new Uru: Ages Beyond Myst game. I just bought it, and the graphics are beautiful! Not only is the technology up to date, but the art direction for that game is better than anything else I've seen out there (and the sound is quite amazing as well). I give it a 9.5/10 on graphics and sound. 10 on story and immersiveness. I can't wait for Uru Live to go online! As for upcoming games, I just played the demo of Deus Ex: Invisible War, and I must say, it didn't impress me very much. The graphics ARE good, but... not as good as the hype had led me to believe. It runs 100% smooth and perfect on my 3Ghz P4 with ATI Radeon 9800 Pro :) Uru impressed me more than the Deus Ex demo. Halo 2 and Doom III are tied in my opinion ;)
Bizkit
I would say Unreal II, Splinter Cell for the lighting and Need For Speed Ungerground.
.....
I would probably have to agree on windwaker, the game just looks incredible. Sure, it doesn't look realistic, but it wasn't trying for that.
boobless
ICO and Zelda GC are the best looking games I've ever seen, they're absolutely brilliant.

Dessimat0r
Unreal Tournament 2003 looks quite good (on screenshots), but it dosen't make it a good game - the gameplay is poor. I prefer Unreal Tournament by far.

ReAnimation
For in game graphics, Its a toss up between Splinter Cell / Need for speed: underground and Max Payne 2. For FMV it has to go to the final fantasy games, the fmv's are truly jaw dropping.
