Is it possible to produce a visible Linux kernel panic in Android?

Someone asked me today if it was possible to produce a visible Linux kernel on a Android device (by visible, I understand he ment for the device not to reboot automatically and show error/debug output on whatever window/X11 type system Android runs)

So now I ask Neowin :)

I've never seen it done. I guess theoretically it is possible.
