I am yet to find a proper player and converter with no hassles except for DIVX player and converter but it cannot play mp4 files with HEVC codec.
To use HEVC is very demanding on my PC atleast in terms on encoding. I havent played(decoded) well yet.
will want to hear your experience and suggestions.
