How do YOU sort your web browser favorites?

Recommended Posts

I have all of mine sorted according to the Yahoo! Directory hierarchy, with the exception of two folders. I sorted them by using the built-in Bookmark Manager in Mozilla Firebird. How do you sort your web browser favorites and bookmarks and what do you use to do it? And what are your reasons why (if any)?

My bookmarks aren't really sorted at all, just a big mess, but then again I don't have more than ~20 sites. For some reason I always tend to lose my bookmarks in one way or another when formatting, upgrading Firebird or whatnot so when I re-add the essential sites it all just ends in chaos.

Personally, I just make an HTML page that I store on my HDD with "My Documents" with all my bookmarks. Easier to back up. And when I upgrade Firebird, I can't lose it. I update it as often as I can.

Yes, I do use the Firebird bookmark thing but I clean it out.

i have about 12 sites in the root of my bookmarks...

everything else is in the "ETC" folder. that has about 300 links in it of various tweaks/fixes to common problems.

another think i like to do is have them all start with a different letter...so that way i have keyboard shortcuts to get to websites...

example: (in firebird)

Alt+B...N

takes me to Neowin :D
