Good program like roger wilco?

Recommended Posts

Any gamers around that use voice to chat while gaming??

Me and a friend are playing warcraft and currently we use msn voice chat when playing warcraft to communicate with each other.

I heard roger wilco is good but it doesnt have like a quality control?

how much data does roger wilco or msn use like in average an hour, bandwidth?

Anyone know any other programs that can compress sounds and quality so it dont hurt too much in download/upload limit :/

try Skype. i don't kow if you can make it to work at the same as game and i don't know it's bandwidth usage...but it has much better voice quality

there is also TeamSpeak, it's "maximum bandwidth won't exceed 25.9 KBit/s (=3.3 KB/s) upstream"

I've used all 3 of those mentioned. Skype I would say is best for just chatting outside of games, but it wins by miles in the clearness / crispness of sound. Teamspeak 2 isn't too bad. There are some times when the servers go down though, and you're kinda stuck (dunno what server I was on, but it happened 3 times in a week). My UT clan used to use TS2, but we've moved onto using Ventrilo now. You get a text chat system with it, and can also add comments onto the end of your name. It's far better for in-game chat ... :)
