now I can barely manage a 1st if I drive flawlessly

This statement is painfully true but how you deem it a positive is beyond me. A flawless drive deserves victory and should always be the case, that's what you work towards in MK, getting the perfect line and the tracks becoming second nature, hacing all that hard work spoilt by stupid crap like that is pathetic and absolutely ruins it.

Mario Kart Double Dash is a sweet game. The two players on a Kart is a good idea, also you can play this game online via Warp Pipe. Which is cool better then playing single player.

Yah its an offical wavebird from Nintendo, I like it, its a bit bigger then the regular controller but I find it much better! .. its wireless no wires to tangle up during this multiplayer battles, plus now u can actually move around without dislodging the multiplayer like what happens on my ps2 all the time.... the feel is the exact same as the regular controller just a bit heavier, barely noticable.

how long does the wavebird last? i never really considered getting one cause i was always afraid that i'd forget to turn it off. but if it lasts as long as my logitech cordless keyboards, i'd gladly give it a try....

....although i'm trying to cut back :p

you wont forget to turn it off. it had a light that turns on when you ..well.. turn it on lol its pretty hard to miss. i've had it for months and i haven't had to change the batteries

lol, yeah, i've seen that light....

but i need something more like an alarm that goes "YOU FORGOT TO TURN OFF YOUR WAVEBIRD DUMB*SS!!!" after no buttons are pushed for like 5 minutes. perhaps an auto-off feature?

hehe, but thanks for the confidence ;)

So I beat the World Cup at 150 and you do get more stuff which leads to a lot more unlocking. I guess if it's okay to post what happens then I will but I'm going to wait for someone to actually say they won't be bothered by the spoiler. The game keeps going when you think you've unlocked it all...that's for sure!

I'm a Mario Kart nut. I don't own a Gamecube, but I'm awfully tempted to pick one up now! I'll wait until I move to the US though..

By the way, does plugging this came into a GBA with Mario Kart Super Circuit unlock anything?

It's definetly worth it. You should also be picking up a broadband adaptor if you have broadband internet so that you can use the soon to come Warppipe (www.warppipe.com) to use the game's lan capabilities to play MK:DD online with others.

Get MK:DD for a good multiplayer game (is a bit weak in single player) and then get F-Zero GX for single player and multiplayer. F-Zero GX is so cool :) I love it

Also Viewtiful Joe is an impressive game! A little weird but very good.

Then there is Zelda and Metroid Prime and Super Smash Bros. Melee...

Sorry I am going off on one heh

GameCube is an excellent console. Graphically the XBOX is better (and sometimes the PS2) however the GC is just more fun to play. I love it  :woot:

I do kinda miss being able to hold items behind the kart... but I'm getting used to dropping or shooting something back to block. I think that DD does a far better job with items. In the N64 version all you had to do was purposely fall a little behind a bingo you'd get a lightning or blue shell. In DD your chances of getting a good item (not to mention special items) are still pretty good if you're in 3rd or 4th. Overall it takes MORE skill to win a race in DD because of the stronger AI and the more random items.

The game is way better in multiplayer (but what games isn't) plus like a bunch of people have mentioned Warp Pipe's efforts to bring the game online on OSx/WIN/Linux will be tons of fun. Plus it'll be free!
