"Me and my brother started chasing him,?? said Leach, 26.But the man turned on them and said, "Do you guys want to get cut?" according to the police report.?I pulled my own knife and said, 'Mine?s bigger than yours,' " Leach said. "He saw my knife and started running again."Leach said he and his brother, both from Joliet, kept pace and caught up with him a second time after he ran through traffic and into an alley east of Wabash Street. ?We pretty much told him, 'Look, all we want is her property,?? Leach said. They made the man empty his pockets. "He told us he left the phone in a hoodie he?d dropped by Harrison and State near the CTA station," Leach said. ?We turned around and the young lady was still with us and we were walking her back to the parking lot and the detectives showed up." Robert Henderson, 48, of the 14700 block of South Avalon Avenue in Dolton, was arrested and charged with felony armed robbery and aggravated battery in the incident. The woman, 33, said she is from Bangkok, Thailand and has only been in town for two months. The woman said she usually takes the bus but for some reason decided to take the L to a language class. She?d just finished and was walking down the subway steps when she saw a man walking up. ?I stopped because I saw his eyes look at me,?? said the woman. "It was not a good sight.??The man grabbed her hand that was holding an iPhone, but she resisted and he bit her hand, according to the police report. Then he reached in his pocket and pulled out a box-cutter and she let go. That's when she started screaming.?I said stop, stop, don?t do it,?? she said. ?I screamed many, many times. I screamed he stole my cell phone."She said she won't tell her family back home because she doesn't want to worry them. ?I was scared but I thought everything that is important is in my cell phone. Everything about my family is inside it and credit card numbers. So I cannot lose it. I tried to get it back.??She was taken to Stroger Hospital, where the bite wound was treated. The phone was recovered and returned to the woman.
kronckew
andrew leach was arrested for carrying an offensive weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, endangering a police detective, and committing a terrorist act and shipped to guantanamo for an extended re-education. his brother was also indicted on conspiracy charges. the police commissioner, while praising his courage for assisting a stranger in need, has stated thgat we have a zero tolerance policy and cannot allow the public to go armed with offensive weapons. the proper procedure would have been for him to call the police to call the police, who would have taken his report over the phone, saving the expense of actually attending the incident, forcing the detective to skip his donut break, and actually arrest someone and thus placing the detective in unnecessary danger in violation of his union agreement. all city and state police will strike on monday said his union rep. the woman was released on bail and her property returned. the district attorney is considering charges that she assaulted mr. henderson by bleeding into his mouth and interfering with him in the performance of his normal occupation. 'she may have had aids' said the D.A., 'we cannot allow our citizens to be interfered with by foreigners' he added. she has since fled back to her country. the cia have been asked to either capture and return her for possible trial, or target her for a drone strike. mr. henderson was unavailable for comment, his attorney is filing suit against the city for wrongful arrest, as well as pain and suffering for his trauma in being detained. the city has settled out of court for an undiscloised 7 figure sum. his suit against mr.leach and the woman is pending. DocM
In Michigan we're limited to a 3" blade unless we're in the field hunting or fishing. Then we can carry anything up to and including an ax, machete, Bowie knife or kukri. OTOH, you can carry any legal firearm without a permit so long as it's exposed & visible; shotgun, rifle or even a ,500 Magnum revolver, so long as you're not in an exclusion zone. Other states, other rules.
