RAGING @ NFS:UDRGRND

Recommended Posts

First of all I am posting this in the PC Gamers section since I am playing it on PC!

Well it's like this.

I HATE THE AI!

Damn the computer suck. I hate when they try to hit your car so you will hit the wall. Computer don't care to "scratch their car". Put a banana and you have Mario Kart! If I were a real street racer, I would think twice before hitting the wall.

Oh and jeez, your car never get damage, you can hit a street light, go around it and continu. Bad bad bad!

Now I'm reselling it to my bro. Let's see if XIII can please me more...

not true!!!!!!!

i once hit a delivery truck, did instane flips (btw, where is my "instane stunt bonus"?), landed on my wheels and noticed my front windshield had scratches! :D

instead of XIII, go with sw:kotor

but in general, i'm very disapointed with NFS series and especially this ricer version

original NFS had true ELITE cars. top crop. something you would never be able to drive in real life..(not these stupid ford neons)

original NFS had absolutly jaw dropping "car showcase". they had very detailed pictures of each car, inside and outside. very nice description of specs. and developers worked with real cars becuase each car had it's own showcase video.

almost every single game after that could've as easily be done w/ raw specs and pictures.

NFS1(SE) had awesome replay feature, you could playback whole race, or just highlights...something "showoff" game such as nfs:u requires!

plus car crash/physics. later nfs games feel like you are driving a box of lead. NFS1(SE) had very nice realistic physics and crashes...

i'm very disapointed with the direction NFS went/going..

Hehe well I thought I was raging about something never said, that's why I made a new thread. Sorry.

Arcade game okay, but PC can deliver much more than that!

And I already have KotoR but I didn't tryed it yet!

I was upset that they got rid of the high performance exotics for "imports" but I decided to download the demo to make my final decision. I have to agree - the physics and AI are HORRIBLE. The whole screen shaking when using nitrous (and it's not "nos" kids) is so very Fast and the Furiously stupid. It seems EA can no longer make great racing games - just great football games.

you're clearly a dumbass...

NOS - is correct - Nitrous Oxide System...also a company called NOS who produce NOS for car use...so...NOS is correct "old man" and of course the screen will shake - thats realism...when you use NOS...which you CLEARLY have never used/been in a car with it...the whole thing moves so quickly you're eyes are like WTF...

Now "old man" climb back under your rock and come back whenyou have something constructive to post...

[ontopic]

the AI is a complete kick in the teeth...you lead a race right to about 100m before the end and some crazy truck wipes you out :(

NEED FOR SPEED... umm isnt that a drug.. jeeze you people need to lay off the drugs..

And the winner of the lamest post of the day......

anyways, I do think they should have added a replay feature in here, but the game isn't all that bad. I prefer NfS:HP2 more, but this is right up there as a good racer. The reason they used cars like this is because this is what street racers use. They don't buy mclaren's and porche 911's.

the reason that NFS has never put damage in (well with the exception of hot pursuit 2 and whatever else) is because the car companies which game them the lisences would not allow them to show damage to theyre beautiful cars.

As for not liking the game i think its alright, not as good as NFS hot pursuit back in the day though :)

lmao... go to a ford dealership and buy a neon.... silly silly.

as for the racing... i hate the way random cars pull out of no where, but as for the realism in the game, its not too bad. this is the first game ive seen where you actually gotta hold the nitrous button to make it go instead of just pressing it once, which is the way it should be. as for the screen shaking... when you are doing a buck 40 down the road, tell me your car doesnt shake... and also notice how hard it is to stear at that speed as well. the only thing i think this game lacks is some american muscle and a replay feature. i also wish you didnt have to put retarted stuff all over your car to get more points, but those are the breaks. overall, i think its a good damn game.

maybe i like a racing game where i can drive the same car i have in real life, except, not have to worry about getting pulled over or dying cause i hit a wall at 175mph...

You're right NOS is a COMPANY, not the nitrous oxide itself. There are other companies producing nitrous oxide systems, it's just that NOS is the most popular. I was referring to those kids who think that NOS is the liquid itself. You helped make my point, thanks.

As far as the shaking being realism - it's not realism. Things seem to be blurry and shaking at high speeds, but the game doesn't seem real at all. It doesn't give me the sensation of speed. Nothing about the game is real. Oh btw I used to own a 66 1/2 Mustang with a N.O.S. system. And I'm a very old man at the ripe age of 26! ;)

Calm down and try not to be so ingorant next time.

well, that's obvious

but NFS series shouldn't have gone that way.

they should've stayed with exotics

lmao... go to a ford dealership and buy a neon.... silly silly.

i meant ford focus, it's dodge neon..either way, it's crap that i see on the road every bloody day. might aswell put nissan maxima and toyota camry in there :pinch:

Xer34, that's just a very common urban legend about mft not wanting to show their cars damaged.

the reason why car damage wasn't implemented in such games was mainly becuase it's hard to do realistic damage on real life cars.

LOL chicken! :p j/k

But you guys are right, no replay, no special sequence for each car and random civilian car pop-uping form nowhere... I mean damn, if I was driving and at a street corner I see I car arriving at 200km/h, I would NOT continu my way!

I think this game was a good idea. The whole street racing deal is what's hot at the moment and they knew it would sale. They had to go with imports as for that's what street racers use. There are a few things that a street racer would not like; for example, having to buy your upgrades in packages instead of getting them individually. I dont like havin to put stuff to get more points, but later on in the game, you dont really need it as much. Damage would make the game a whole lot different and it would get really annoying having to repair your car over and over. With the way the races go on it would be impossible to complete a race in first place without hitting something. The windows do get cracked, but it fixes itself after the race. The whole point in having traffic is to make it a actual street race. If there was no traffic then you couldnt call it a street race. They were just trying to appeal to more people, so I wouldnt knock them for that.

uh, dude! you have never experienced a car with a N.O.S. tank in it have you? or you have never pushed the button for a N.O.S. tank in that 66 mustang? when you push the button/s for N.O.S. it WILL blur out everything but the stuff that is in imediate front of you.

you should check out budget game called "Street Legal 2 Redline"

it has hands down the best "under the hood" part. customization of your car is trully extreme.

however racing part is very disappointing..

here are some shots of this game http://www.gamershell.com/hellzone_Racing_...2_Redline.shtml

but they don't show how good garage part of the game is.

tweaking/upgrades parts from SL2R, and racing part from NFS:U (even the way it is right now), this game would absolutly kill grand toursmo3/4/whatever's out there

What really p|ssed me off was that EA didn't put the interior of the cars, as in Porsche, High Stakes and HP 1. It seems they're long gone, alongside car slide shows, and exotic beauties.

Ah well, will look for TNFS in my gaming closet, should be somewhere inside.

if you want crash damage then buy Destruction Derby ;)

Yeah the game has it flaws, but then so do most games.

I still say Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec (and 4 when released... when? next summer)

Is the best driving game, ever, on any system, the attention to detail its just a perfect all rounder.
