IE6 - problem

Question

I'm having a ****ty time with it  . It's great, I have GoogleToolbar so popups are blocked etc etc, but I STILL can't just type in whatever I like in the address bar - I am required to enter "http://" every time I enter a URL and it's a pain in the ass if I'm in a hurry. If I don't enter that protocol, the program freezes on it's ass. Any ideas guys, would I have to download some sort of patch?

Cheers

You, my friend, are a moron. If your Ford was broken, would you want your mechanic to tell you to get a dodge? No you wouldn't.

Sure, if it wasn't worth fixing the Ford, and if the dodge was free and contained all the features I wanted in the Ford plus more :]

Although perhaps I'll put out a little more meaty piece of advice ;) http://www.windowsupdate.com update your PC up to the specs, run an adware scan, and if necessary reinstall IE.

nah, it was a problem well before I installed GT. I've d/l firebird now, no probs so far, but I would like IE to work anyway. I also have Opera but it isn't as good as either of the other 2 IMO. And Netscape? Well I just won't even go there...

You could try installing MyIE2 just to check if it's the IE core or not, if it is then you probably need to repair IE.

I think you just need to tick Use Inline Auto-Complete for Web Addresses

in Internet Options/Advanced.

Yes, Firebird Ownage levels are dangerously high, been using it for years, its good but still a bit buggy.
