Growled Member Posted October 31, 2013 Member Share Posted October 31, 2013 honestly, the level of value from Steam sales will never see the consoles. It's two different market/ sales strategies. Steam appeals to the common man on a regular basis and at constant discounts, seasonally, annually and special packs: they do dlc specials and multiple ppl packs. Xbox Live doesnt even come close to value, because they operate in a closed off system, for them its all about profit and maximum value, not consumer value. Steam games initially peak at original prices and then literally a month or so later there's a special on that game, always like that. I believe this is why, eventually, Steam is going to take over the gaming world.

Gerowen
When they made a native Linux client I installed it and started buying Linux compatible games from Steam, and playing the ones I already owned that got ported. They're increasing their user base by including more platforms and offering up sales and stuff.
